Missions & Evangelism

St John is involved in a myriad of mission ministries.  We serve numerous local missions through service projects and gifts, as well as supporting global missionaries.  Christ’s Great Commission of Matthew 28:19 keeps St John consciously mission-minded.

St John supports or serves at Bread of Life Food Pantry, Dare to Care, G.O. Ministries, Grace Kids, Henderson Settlement, High Point, Hope Health Clinic, Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes, Kontaktmission, Lighthouse Academy, Oldham Clinic, Portland Promise Center, United Methodist Mountain Mission, Gate of Hope, Thailand Methodist Missions, Red Cross Angel Tree Project, and Prodigal Ministries.

Our Kid’s Kloset ministry also makes significant donations to a number of programs supporting children and youth.

Operation Christmas Child

2021 will be St. John’s 18th year as a Drop-off Center for Operation Christmas Child.  Thanks to the generosity of our congregation and the community, we collected over 1,000 boxes in 2019! Visit the Operation Christmas Child website to learn more about this ministry.  You can pack a shoebox online any time of the year!

Mission Trips

St John sends a mission team to the Dominican Republic to work with G.O. Ministries for a week each April during spring break.
