Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

2020 will be St. John’s 17th year as a Drop-off Center for Operation Christmas Child.  Thanks to the generosity of our congregation and the community, we collected 1,405 boxes in 2019!

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 157 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories.  For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.

Visit the Operation Christmas Child website to learn more about this ministry.  You can even pack a shoebox online any time of the year!

Each November, we collect shoeboxes for a week. For 2020, drop-off will be curbside.  Volunteers are needed to staff the Relay Center. Face masks, gloves, and sanitizer will be provided.  Click the link below to sign-up.
